During summer season, one has to prevent from heat stroke caused by intense heat of the sun. One has to drink a lot of water or juice, bring fan and of course an umbrella or a hat for protection. If you want to carry a hat and a fan in one item I have found them for you. One is electronically made and the other is natively constructed.
The first is a plastic hat with attached fan which runs with single "AA" battery. It is practical to use rechargeable battery, except li-on battery which would be bloated when used in a small fan like this. However, it is good to have a solar power to run this small fan for practical purpose. Though seems weird to roam around with this hat-fan item. But if you want gimmick this gadget is for you.
The second hat-fan item is foldable and easy to carry. It is a hat and literally a fan because of folding design that allows it to transform. As you can see at the photo above it is like a slim bell at first look. When opened it could be used as fan. And when fully opened it is a practically a protection from the sun's scorching heat. What is peculiar in this product, the inner cover is made of dried straws of a plant which filter the heat.

About the Product
The image above seems a common battery-operated small fan. Though it functions like one but it works mechanically by hand. You may ask how fast will I turn its lever? I say, just slow; in one rotation it takes 3 seconds and the soft plastic blades turn fast. You can see in the image how the blades turn fast by rotating the lever with just one flip of my forefinger.
Wind Power of This Fan
When compared to a cardboard fan, this mechanical fan has small amount of wind than the cardboard fan. So the wind produced in this mechanical fan is not really satisfying during hot weather.
Uses of Mechanical Fan
So what is the point of making this product? First, I find this product in toy department. This must be intended for children as play item. Second, it can be used to cool hot food or any heated object like electronic parts when soldered, for it is so portable and easy to pick up. Third, it can be used as blower to get rid of small particle of dust for small sensitive parts, instead of air blown by human mouth with sprinkling saliva. Fourth, it may be used as point of discussion for class in Physics subject or maybe for a science enterprise, etc.
